Waging War on Sloppy Slippers

Recently there has been a campaign launched by many organisations to stop people - mainly older people - wearing Slippers which are bad for their health. I agree with what the campaigners are saying and wish to raise awareness of the issue.
No, before you ask I am not going to bust into your grandparents house, hold them at gun point and demand they surrender their Sloppy Slippers. That's just rude! Anyway, who is going to write my column if I'm busy terrorising grannies?
I am however, going to tell you about why you should avoid Sloppy Slippers… Well, what exactly are Sloppy Slippers? Sloppy Slippers are slippers which provide little or no support for the foot and hip. They cause thousands of people – mainly elderly – to trip and have to go to hospital.
The government claims that slippers like this are a contributory factor to poor hips. Which results in the need for a hip replacement.
Well then, what can you do? I would say "it is quite simple, GET NEW SLIPPERS!" I would then tell you to look for slippers which have a proper back and do not have the nice softy bits which are driving Mr and Mrs Hip into an early grave.
So let us rise up in mighty revolution against the common foe of stupid, smelly senseless Sloppy Slippers…
